reply
haha was reading jona's mail to me jus now wishing be a merry xmas.. a bit the late huh.. anyway i'll jus take the chance to reply on one issue..
i DONT have everything.. that is a SWEEPING statement and an overgeneralisation.. didnt mdm madihah teach us in gp nt to do tt? if i had everything my name wouldnt be kaka, my name would be God ("tts blasphemy!" is the reply somewhere out there). maybe i have more than some ppl, but sometimes i think its a matter of where ur priorities lie i guess. previously in sec sch i was told im rich when i always pia mechwarrior boosters. these are nt cheap considering tt they cost $15 each. but the truth is, im nt. its jus where i put my money. i save and starve jus to buy those stuff, while others choose to put their money into food, entertainment, blah blah blah. well ok as for maybe coms its jus a by-product of a father who lives and works using tech stuff. nothing much. coms are dirt cheap nowadays.
yupz so advice for all - dont compare b/w ur current situation with others, u'll nv be satisfied. =)

return
jus returned home and my first touch of internet in a week. I have a xmas lunch later with my family and relatives. Super tired at the moment and I dun think the sucky turkey ham sandwich meal frm Delifrance is helping me keep awake. Maybe I’ll die later during lunch.
Off to bed.

last day
ok soon will be on my way back to Singapore. 5.35 am is my flight. Today was back to being quite a boring day again. Ate at yum cha for lunch. nice mapo tofu, nice crispy chicken, ok stir fried veges, acceptable hong kong style steam fish (I hate fish so its quite an achievement for fish to be considered acceptable by me). After tt took a bus to Casuarina Square to completely explore the whole place and try to buy some stuff. Didn’t buy anything except for more chocolates. An interesting shop was called Socrates, which sold stuff tt make u think when u play or use them. Saw this interesting top tt could spin faster and faster when placed on a special platform.. kinda defies the law of conservation of energy, but the explanation given was tt gravity was working on it, which I totally don’t understand how tts gonna happen cost the potential energy of the top didn’t change.. or maybe there are more types of potential energy tt I dunno of.. well had dinner at Casuarina Square (a KFC zinger meal) b4 heading back to the hotel.
Had jus finished watching Kingdom of Heaven using the movies on demand feature in the hotel rm. Now watching a documentary by Discovery Channel abt this girl psychic who claims to have x-ray or medical vision, where u can see the innards of a person and tell straight away what medical prob the person has. She’s being tested by American scientists to see whether she truly has medical vision. Most like nt I think.
I think I’ll leave it at tt for today.

jumping crocs
brunched frm the Chinese takeaway. Char kway teow.. the chicken totally sucked.. no taste at all.. the owner is a Laotian.. little wonder she screwed one of singapore’s flagship dishes.. then it was off to the Adelaide river to see the jumping crocs.. a bus came to picked us up frm the hotel lobby.. along the way visited the fogg dam, which is a landscape destroyed by humans who wanted to build a dam across the Adelaide river but failed and abandoned the dam. Nothing much to see, jus destroyed wetlands.
Next was the Adelaide river cruise. Quite interesting actually at first but got bored after they fed so many crocs. They hang pork chops over the top of the boat to lure the crocs to jump out of the river to bite them. They also did tt for eagles too, shot the incident with my cam. Tts pretty much the whole river cruise. Was wondering whether this was against animal rights cos u obviously have to train the crocs to respond to the pork chops hanging over the boat.. anyway the cruise could have been more enjoyable if there weren’t so many flies abt.
Ok after tt was off to the Windows on the Wetlands visitor centre. Nv understood why it was named so but it jus gave us a view of the surrounding wetlands. While we were there it rained, and we managed to see a rainbow! Haha this rainbow was a very special one cos it started and ended in the middle of the wetlands, nt on the horizon, so technically u could drive up to the base of the rainbow and see if there is a pot of gold there. Lol but of course we didn’t do tt.
After that we returned to the hotel to have dinner at macs. mcChicken meal for me. Their mcChicken is much larger than singapore’s mcChicken tho..
Haiz one more day of slacking b4 I return to Singapore.

sianness
tiger airways seems to be a big deal in darwin. The inaugural flight made front page headlines. Little wonder I guess since they only had Qantas and Brunei Airways all their life.. woke up pretty late today. Supposed to be 9 am in sg but its alr 10.30 in Darwin. Had brunch of supermarket food (cold bbq chicken with bread) Anyway went exploring even more today. Found out even more eating places to try for the next few days. A Chinese restaurant (Yum Cha, no link to singapore’s yum cha), an Asian food court featuring Thai, Indian, Vietnamese and Chinese stalls and a Chinese takeaway. An interesting find was a Santa’s workshop in the town centre where children could go in and talk to Santa. Ate Subway the whole day for brunch and dinner. Fifa-ed like crap today.. super sian after a while cos I jus keep scoring goals. 13-0 is the usual scoreline..
i headed down with my mum to the hotel lobby to look at the tours available. The front desk girl (an Singaporean Indian working at the hotel) advised us to take the jumping crocs tour. So we booked the tour for tml b4 we took a cab to skycity, the local casino and hotel.
We arrived there quite fast. Tho the cab fare was quite ex. 6.30 ozzie dollars. 3.60 for hailing the cab, 10 cents every 10 secs, compared to 2.40 for hailing the cab, 10 cents every 30 secs in Singapore, and tts in sing dollars. Anyway went to see the casino. Seems like they dun have an age limit here, cos even I could get in. seems like if u got the money, jus come. Well it was a pretty boring place. Rows and rows of jackpot machines, and a small area with tables for various games. When we got there, there were only 3 games being played at the moment. Russian Roulette, Blackjack and Carribean Stud Poker. Learnt a bit abt roulette and blackjack (casino style, nt the usual way we Singaporeans play) frm my observations. Couldn’t make out how to play stud poker so we left the place to check out the rest of the place. A few more restaurants and the hotel and we were done. took a bus to Casuarina, where Casuarina Square, the largest shopping centre, was situated. We looked around for a while and realized tt all the shops were starting to close. 5.30 pm only... so relaxed and slack aussie life is.. so we got some chocolates frm Woolworths b4 we took a bus back to the hotel.
Fifa-ed for a while b4 I decided to blog. Yea got tired of the tough AI of the game so changed the game setting to Amateur frm World Class. “Solskjaer scores” is still ringing in my head.
Hope the jumping crocs have energy to jump tml or it’ll be totally a waste of time and money.

darwin
here I am in the middle of a city with nothing in mind to do besides what ive brought. Sitting on my bed, with my laptop, typing this blog entry. A beautiful sea view outside my rm window. Dad is working at his 2 laptops in front of him. Haiz he jus cant relax even for a holiday I think.. recent vacations overseas have always seen him camping in the hotel and working all day.. as for this trip he does another thing – regularly bugging front desk ppl on the internet connection pricing. Haha =) nobody seems to noe exactly how the internet connection would be billed to him. Oh well internet is off limits to me so im using ms word for this.
Ok well I think I’ll start frm yesterday when I left the hse. First we took a cab to changi terminal one where tiger airways operates frm. Well on the way the cabbie was quite nice and giving us all kinds of advice on budget air and abt his recent trip to Bangkok on budget air. He also talked abt his previous career in the hotel industry where he worked as a waiter or similar equivalent in the hotel restaurant. He was telling very interesting stories abt a job offer he had while working at the restaurant. Well he was serving this Caucasian who owned a restaurant in south Africa. The Caucasian was impressed with his serving style so decided to offer him a job in his restaurant. The cabbie decided to go there for a week to decide whether he would accept the job. Haha then he was saying how scary it was in south Africa. He was there in the 70s or 80s where there was much unrest there b/w the whites and the blacks due to the apartheid system there. Tt was b4 mendela did his magic on his country. Anyway, the scary thing abt his exp was tt the blacks would come in enmass into his restaurant, at least 4 at once and order the food. They would eat it and leave without paying. The first time he saw this happening he chased them and requested payment. The blacks all slowly surrounded him. He was moments away frm being bashed up by the blacks b4 he realized what was goin on and beat the hell outta there. Hmm quite interesting anecdote.. they always say cabbies have a lot of stories to tell.. seems quite right.
Ok then we reached changi terminal one where we checked in. haha while in the queue tiger airways personnel gave out packages to welcome us on their inaugural flight to Darwin. Turned out to be a useless booklet on tourist spots in Darwin (hardly any to me) and the Top End (the aussies term for the northern territories). Anyway there was a bit of drama oso while in queue. There were 2 families in front of us. The first was a family of 3. they took a hell of a time trying to check in their stuff. Dunno what was the prob. After 20 mins the counter staff asked them whether they have a visa. Haha apparently they didn’t.. gosh seems like very bo chap planning to me.. they shld have checked whether they could enter Australia without a visa.. luckily nowadays aussie visas were issued online, with an instant visa jus costing u 20 aussie dollars. So luckily for them they could apply instantly frm an internet kiosk in the airport. Ok behind them, was a aussie PR who holds sg citizenship. She had a small prob in tt her passport was printed wrongly, with her ic no. not having a alphabet behind the string of no.s. lucky for her she could check in. well gd thing for us we managed to check in without any hiccup.
Well next we proceeded to the gate where the airplane was. Haha something very funny happened when they asked all passengers to board. Well first the announcement came saying “the plane is now ready for boarding.” Immediately everyone rushed to the door where we were supposed to go to board the plane cos it’s a free seating flight, with no fixed seats for passengers. Then the announcer said “please do not rush to board the plane” then tt was like haha damn funny. Everyone had alr rushed there.. typical Singaporean kiasu spirit in action..
Oh well finally got onto the plane, an Airbus A320, and began a 4 hr long trip to Darwin international airport. Bought a chicken and potato sandwich and 2 cans of apple juice for me and my mum. Tasted quite gd but very ex. $5 for the sandwich and $2 for each can of apple juice.. after tt had to catch up on some slp given tt the flight started at midnight. However I simply couldn’t get much slp given the cramped confines of the plane. Managed to stretch out my legs on 2 adjacent seats cos the plane was nt full but still the hard walls of the cabin gave me a huge backache at the end of the flight.
After finally arriving at Darwin, we cleared customs and was given a warm welcome by the local tourism board personnel, who had prepared breakfast for us the inaugural flight ppl. gulped 2 choco muffins and a glass of orange juice down b4 we took the airport shuttle to our accommodation, Holiday Inn Darwin. There we checked in and immediately dropped into bed to slp the bulk of the morning. When I finally awoke it was 12 pm local time (+1.5 hrs sg time) mum and dad had alr gone to the nearby coles supermarket to buy a loaf of bread and bbq chicken for lunch.. one of the best bbq chicken and bread ive ever eaten. Yum yum. After tt dad got down to work while my mum and I went out to explore the nearby surroundings. Pretty boring and ulu, with little ppl abt.. the homeless blacks were also very scary.. looked like very threatening and grim ppl. After much exploring, we found a Chinese noodle hse, a Vietnamese restaurant, 2 pizza joints, Mcdonald’s, Subway (the fast food joint, nt the train haha =) ) and another supermarket Woolworths. We bought a pizza frm one of the joints and brought it back to the hotel for dinner.
After dinner I played fifa 99 for a while on this laptop b4 I decided to “blog” on this laptop. Quite an uninteresting first day at Darwin.. hope it’ll change for the better or else I’ll die of boredom. Shall try to mug later tho I doubt I wont get any mugging done cos we’re gonna watch Mr and Mrs Smith frm the Movies-on-Demand service on the tv.

flight
within a few hrs i'll be on a tiger airways plane bound for darwin, australia.. first time taking budget air so i think it'll be an eye opening exp. have finished packing everything and jus waiting for my dad to finish his work b4 we leave for the airport. hope it'll be a more interesting trip than it seems at the moment. i may be updating this blog while at darwin thru an internet cafe at darwin or the broadband access in the hotel rm. but the prob with the broadband in the hotel rm is tt it is pay-as-u-use.. $0.20 ozzie cents per mb so may nt get much internet access in the rm cos my dad wants to cut down on costs (he'll be working while on holiday (like me =( ) and he'll be using the internet to do it, so u can imagine how much he'll spend on broadband internet there).
yupz i think i'll save my breath for my entry while at darwin.

replaced or expired
yea today finally got my zen micro replaced.. creative kindly decided to replace my spoilt zen micro for FREE!!! =) =) =) haha altho we couldnt find the proof of purchase required to show tt we had bought it for less than a yr so tt it was covered under warranty.. was super scared tt they'll reject us and either ask us to pay for the repairs or new zen micro.. altho i would have fancied a zen neeon or zen vision m if i were to replace my zen micro.. oh well.
yupz went to sgh once again today.. pharmacy as usual.. the word of the day is expiry dates! argh i was posted to the ward 52 satellite pharmacy.. the pharmacy right beside the labour ward.. ok at first danielle (a scgs girl sec 1) and me were doing returns again.. i was like absolutely sian diao once again.. cant they get the technicians to do tt job?! its like totally mind boggling stuff.. the drugs all sound the same.. what ciproflavin, omeprazole, blah blah blah.. gosh. luckily they had a job upstairs in the pharmacy store. saved me frm tt crap but landed me in another crap job, tho less crap. checking of expiry dates of drugs! painstaking job but at least a more straight forward one. all it requires is super observant eyes (looking for the multitude of places where the manufacturer can print or paste the exp date), a super agile body (to maneuver thru the cramped constraints of the store) as well as an aptitude in balancing stuff in one hand very well. cleared the "slow-moving" drugs and drugs in the fridge by 1 pm.. went for lunch with yau chuen who had the nice task of packing medicine AGAIN muahahahahah.. fishball mee poh this time round.
ok after lunch finished up the rest of the stuff by 3 pm. after tt went to help yau chuen out with his stock.. lol they seemed ultra evil today.. gave him 3 boxes of stuff to pack.. i was "omg?!" when i saw the stuff.. there was enough for 4 ppl to do.. helped him for 1/2 hr b4 i went off.
oh well will volunteer one more time on mon b4 i fly off for my darwin trip.. tho i feel it'll become a MUGGING trip.....................................................................

of gpa, ns and darwin
today received 2 pieces of mail.. one saying i have to register for ns.. wow timely reminder huh.. jus one more yr till 2 yrs in the army. :S time jus seems to fly.. it seems jus yesterday i was 10 yrs old and thinking ns was a long way away.. the other piece of mail was saying tt i got the good progress award. i was like "huh?!" i felt i totally sucked this yr in my studies and didnt make much progress from block test till promos.. from BCCO to BBCE.. nt much diff i think.. the cdc thought otherwise tho.. hmmm my 4th gpa i think.. nv got a bursary (once i qualified, pri 2, but parents too rich) or scholarship (always competing with the best so... how to shine huh).. gpas always seems to remind me of my study attitude.. which is couldnt care less at first then pia a bit harder for yr end exams. haiz tt attitude has to change but it seems too difficult.. well i think i'll have to start next yr i guess.. or risk me flunking my As..
yea ok on to the next topic.. darwin! ok this isnt a sermon on how great darwin was or how interesting and diverse finches are.. well seems like indeed i have travel plans for this hols.. albeit a bit last minute.. im bound for darwin, australia, next mon.. on the inaugural tiger airways flight there.. yea well it all started on mon or tues this week i think.. when the news reported tiger airways was having a one way $1 air ticket sale to darwin.. my mum was like joking tt we shld rush to go and book the flight.. then my father agreed and encouraged us to book.. so we checked out the website and actually booked!!! omg i was thinking this is a joke when they were goin thru the online procedure to book the flight.. haiz looks like i tricked moe into thinking i dun haf travel plans.. lol =) but the next dilemma is tt i think there is nth to do there.. although its called the capital of the northern territory of australia.. on google earth it looks like a seaside town.. looks like i have to bring stuff to mug (omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg) or maybe get some books to read.. which reminds me i havent read my complete set of the Chronicles of Narnia.. tts something to do.. of course i better bring my music along or else i'll die of lack of sounds.. bring a laptop or an mp3 player along..
which painfully reminds me of my zen micro which i spoilt.. >_< carelessly left it on the edge of a table and somehow it crashed to the ground.. hard disk based mp3 player somemore... haiz will try to get it repaired tml.. hope its in time for the trip..

omg
haha was at the lan shop jus now to maple a bit.. was there with my bro.. we decided to go on a mad dash into the dungeon as far as possible.. he was a lvl 28 warrior while im a lvl 32 cleric.. so i keep healing each other along the way.. hmm we reached ant tunnel park (my usual training spot) and went further.. initially was quite manageable.. evil eyes only.. easy kills for me.. after 4 pages of evil eye cave we reached the drake hunting ground.. lol there was A LOT of drakes there.. lvl 40 something monsters.. could only hit half the time.. whenever i got hit i took a WHOPPING 200 plus damage! omg everytime i get hit i have to heal once.. after finally managing to kill 1 drake we went on to the next screen.. some place called the tunnel tt lost all light or something like tt.. kaoz tt place was swarming with cold eye and drakes.. we met another lvl 32 cleric there who was also exploring.. so we invited him to the party and went ahead together.. haha can heal each other very easily.. ok the tunnel tt lost all light lasted for 2 screens b4 we came out into the open again in a screen called another entrance. no monsters here. well once u go into the entrance, its swarming with cold eyes and drakes.. ouch took lots of damage.. would have died if i didnt healed myself.. then i met a gigantic monster!!! omgomgomgomgomgomgomg.. when i went to research its called wild cargo.. a lvl 62 creature.. tts like double my lvl lar.. when i got hit by it it i took a HUMUNGOUS 340 damage!!! omgomgomgomgomgomgomg.. we went on to the next screen where something very interesting happened.. hmm apparently tt screen was called wild cargo hunting training area or sth like tt.. but when we went there the whole place was empty.. only left a few cold eyes here and there.. then my bro was like wondering why it was so empty and no wild cargoes around when its called wild cargo training area.. haha jus when he finished talking abt it a whole bunch of wild cargo appeared around us and whacked us left right centre! crap managed to escape to a safe platform.. however my bro n the cleric was nt tt lucky.. they got whacked off the ledge we were standing on into the depths of the cave.. the cleric died as soon as he hit the ground.. luckily my bro had a lot of hp so he narrowly escaped to my platform with very little hp left.. healed him to full health.. as for the cleric.. well he respawned back at the nearest town.. we didnt wan to risk our lives any further so decided to teleport to the nearest town..
yupz so tt ends another mad dash by my bro n i into the depths of the dungeon.. we failed to see a tauromacis or taurospear tho.. its supposed to be the boss monster at the end of the dungeon.. maybe when im lvl 50 then i'll attempt to go again..

volunteer pool
yupz todae went for my 2nd volunteering session with sgh. reached there at 915 am n met joel frm cjc who was oso dispatched to pharmacy today. quite a nice guy but with a serious inferiority complex.. always thinking tt he's inferior to us hwa chongians (yau chuen came later).. whatever man.. sounds like me having an inferiority complex towards ppl like dearest uncle and cr.. lol =) anyway well today was a bit more interesting than last week.. at least got yau chuen and joel to talk to.. well first task was to join sheets of sticker labels for medicine together into a long roll of sticker labels. got tt over with quite fast so we went back down to the satellite pharmacy to get more work done b4 lunch.. did some packing of medicine for some patients b4 goin for lunch.. vegetarian food again! =) tt stall rox lar.. first time see ppl selling cargo rice.. yupz
hmm after lunch did somemore packing.. this time was some local anaesthetic for the urethra.. 3 syringes one bag.. yupz and then at 2 pm left sgh to go for pool.. pool factor once again! =) darn it reminds of the stupid 174 bus ride tt took 1 hr jus to get there frm sgh.. totally dizzy after tt.. :S yupz but the pool was nice! haha was crap in the first 2 games.. 1st game i played was against sam. was left with only the black ball to pocket and then i pocketed both the black and the cue ball.. crap lame way to lose.. 2nd game was against jona.. haha of course got owned.. then my luck finally changed.. 3rd game for me was against sam again (well only sam and jona was there anyway haha) played all the way to the wire b4 i managed to pocket the black ball.. haha tt game was super crap lar.. i pocketed my balls so fast tt there were countless situations where i ended up surrounded by stripped balls (i was solid balls if im correct).. gave away so many free balls.. but at least it was my first win of the day! =) =) haha after tt played the last game.. tag with sam against jona.. haha jona actually lost to us! =) yay! we managed to win when he still had 3 balls to pocket! haha =) he was totally crap lar.. i gave him 4 consecutive free balls but he simply couldnt capitalise.. lol i was presented with a free ball with only 2 balls left to pocket for us.. easily pocketed the first ball.. and for once my slice was accurate as i pocketed the black ball! haha rox.. still cant believe jona lost to us.. haha =)
yupz after tt went to the lan shop to maple a bit b4 coming home.
yea tts it i think.
5:44 AM
out
haiz another lamentable display by man u.. got knocked out of the champions league and uefa cup 2-1 by benfica.. unbelievable.. man u had led in the sixth minute through a goal from scholes.. but benfica was totally an inspired side.. from a cross through o'shea's legs geovanni dives and heads the ball into the net.. beto whacks a ball tt deflected off alan smith in to the corner of van der sar's net.. all of this happening in the first 34 mins of play.. subsequently man u stepped on the gas but to no avail as benfica's defence held firm..
well i doubt man u can salvage this season if this continues.. with only the domestic league and cup to play for.. chelski is dominating the league.. fa cup and league cups seem to be the best bet for fergie now..
*sigh*

listen to my night song..
*yawn*.. all alone at night (morning rather).. listen to my 夜曲..
omg so morbid.. wonder why i sung tt.. shall watch benfica vs man u then.. chase away this morbidness with a sea of red..

urgh
yea caught the last 20 mins of chelski vs liverpool. stupid alarm clock didnt ring lar.. only woke up myself to realise 70 mins of the match gone.. damn but at least it was fast paced football with plenty of creativity.. chelski seemed the more penetrative side.. but couldnt score due to offsidedness.. credit to liverpool for their defence tho their strikeforce is as usual, cant be considered a force at all. yellow cards a plenty it seemed for chelski for the last 20 mins, with carvalho, lampard and one other guy (cant rmb =( ) getting on the bookings..
yupz final score 0-0. tml shall catch the must-win match b/w man u and benfica.

a twist of fate
well yesterday was totally a slack day. morning mapled a bit b4 i installed my printer on another com. then went to lunch at the esplanade. ate thai express.. some black olive rice and some popiah wraps.. tasted q ok but trouble is very ex.. haha kinda expected huh.. yea after tt at 4 pm went to watch A Twist of Fate by the Singapore Repetory (doesnt seem the right spelling but oh well) Theatre. well my mother suddenly spotted this production in the lifestyle section of the straits times so wanted to go watch.. dunno where she got the bug to watch theatre all of a sudden.. ok so she booked tix online at sistic.. by the time she booked (which was on fri) the cheapest tix were alr all snapped up. in the end we had to buy cat 2 tix which was the 2nd most ex tix.. stall seats ya noe.. oh yar the last show is today at 4 pm so i think u all dun haf any chance of catching it anyway huh..
ok as for the show, its basically abt this abandoned child who comes back frm england searching for her real parents. she arrives at the household of lim chin boon, her biological grandfather. well i think i better first construct the family tree of lim chin boon or else u'll be confused later on, which i was esp towards the end of the show. well ok. first generation is lim chin boon and his 1st wife (who is either dead or missing) and 2nd wife (a peranakan woman servant tt worked in lim chin boon's hse, subsequently married to him). 2nd generation is alice (peranakan woman's daughter) and rosalind (1st wife's child). 3rd generation is Ah Si (works as servant at the hse but was unveiled as lim chin boon's heir at the end as rosalind had him as a child). Other significant characters is lim chin boon's business partner frm malacca (the ultimate villain), Richard (lim chin boon's lawyer), nee soon (mr lim's nurse) and inspector east, the policeman in charge of cracking the murder of lim chin boon.
ok with tt out of the way, time for the show. well the first scene of the day was back in 1918 (approx there) where rosalind and her ang moh husband returns to mr lim's hse to try to convince mr lim to accept her son as his own. well now mr lim always deeply resented ang mohs, so he nv accepted his ang moh son-in-law as legitimate, and therefore his grandson. well rosalind and her husband left her son into the care of a nurse, which later turned out to be the young nee soon, b4 entering the hse. utilising shadows and dramatic music, they depicted what was goin on inside the hse, where rosalind was whacked on the head, and her husband shot with a pistol, thus causing both of them to die. nee soon, frightened by what she saw, she freaked out and ran away.
the next scene was propelled to 1937. where emma west makes a return to the hse. hmm im getting kinda tired of this post.. haha although its barely into the start but well i jus cover the key pts. firstly the chronological order of events. emma comes to hse. greeted by everyone (richard (special attn frm him lol), uncle, alice, ah si, nee soon, wife of mr lim yupz). she produces a hairpin tt was supposedly rosalind's. passed to mr lim (well he's bedridden and nv seen in the entire show). realise it is indeed rosalind's. asks emma to see him tml at 7 pm b4 his 60th birthday party. mrs lim invites emma to stay in the hse instead of raffles hotel. emma reluctantly accepts. when she goes upstairs she finds a note slipped under her door to come outside the hse at midnight. meanwhile downstairs ah si and alice decide to elope oso at midnight. uncle and mrs lim conspire to swap emma west's hairpin with a fake one oso at midnight.
at midnight, emma meets nee soon outside the hse to tell her the true story of what happened to her parents that fateful night 20 yrs ago. it was overheard by uncle. emma, shocked by what she heard couldnt believe it, but took the info anyway and retired to her rm. later, ah si and alice had packed and was ready to leave but was caught by uncle and mrs lim. plan was foiled and they returned to their own rms. mrs lim subsequently successfully swaps the hairpin. this is to discredit emma such tt she cannt be considered the heir to mr lim's estate.
yup next morning ah si was very angry and started singing this hilarious song abt killing chickens (which is within his job scope at the hse of lim). well cant rmb the whole song but it was very funny indeed. =) yupz ok so for the rest of the day ppl were jus preparing for the big birthday bash for mr lim. at 7pm, emma west is called to mr lim's bedside by nee soon. however when she went in, mr lim was already dead.
well we return to act 2 the same way as act 1 started, a song with the same tune, same dance moves but different lyrics. ok so we begin as inspector east comes to the scene of the crime. starts interrogating every person present in the hse. haha the way they did this was like playing musical chairs, where 1 person gives his alibi, the others sit silently. then when tt person was done, the music starts and they start singing abt alibis, after which there is a mad scramble for seats with the last person having to go thru the interrogation next. pretty much like musical chairs. yupz after which they were asked to stay in the hse and make themselves comfortable while the inspector and his men work, whereby the inspector will report any findings at midnight. haha midnight again.. oh well so they waited. after tt inspector east reported his findings. cant rmb any of them tho. yupz so he promises to unveil the murderer tml at 11 am. meanwhile he advises everyone to retire to their beds. in the middle of the night, there was an attempted murder on mrs lim by ah si (later found out was uncle using ah si's chopper) but this was calmed down by inspector east and everyone retired to their rms.
ok at 11 am the next day, this is where the complicated family tree and conspiracy unfolds. well cutting out the theatrics and the complications, here's the full story.
firstly, mr lim didnt like ang mohs, so he resented rosalind having a ang moh bf and arranged a marriage with a rich person frm malacca. rosalind refuses and stays with her ang moh bf thus having a child with him. rosalind and bf was subsequently killed by mr lim with they hoped to have mr lim's blessings for their son. apparently the servant girl serving at the hse heard the whole commotion frm her servant's quarters and was extremely terrified by it. she was asked by mr lim to help him bury the bodies on the terrace in the hse and was urged to keep quiet. however to silence her, he had to marry her so tt she could live the high life she so desired. this servant girl was the current mrs lim. well apparently the guy frm malacca was very disgruntled and dismayed at the news of rosalind falling in love with an ang moh. so he decided to come down to the hse of lim chin boon to work with him as his business partner, in the hope of waiting for rosalind to return to his side. this person was the uncle in this story. he had a daughter with mrs lim, alice. well everything changed when he overheard nee soon telling emma tt mr lim had killed rosalind tt fateful night 20 yrs ago. he deeply resented tt, till he decided to take matters into his own hands and murdered mr lim through suffocation. what exposed him as the murderer was tt in his testimony, he had said tt he went into mr lim's rm at 3 pm to sign some bank papers, but according to the bank, he had passed some bank papers with mr lim's signature at 1 pm to the bank, giving the uncle full ownership of mr lim's business and estate. he went berserk and picked up the pistol mr lim had kept all these yrs after using it on the ang moh and aimed it at all the rest. he poured out all his anguish and anger he had kept all these yrs. however inspector east was already ahead of the uncle, as he had removed the bullets frm the pistol. in disbelief, uncle tried to take some shots but whenever he pulled the trigger, a very loud CLICK could be heard. and with a sheepish "shit.." he ran for it. however he was easily caught by richard who showed his "kungfu".
well the twist is nt yet although the story seems to have successfully concluded. apparently nee soon had one last surprise for everyone. apparently emma was a girl, but rosalind had a son. so it was unveiled tt emma was nee soon's daughter. she had her with an ang moh who ran for it after making her pregnant. however, nee soon had kept rosalind's son all these years and taught him to grow up believing he was nee soon's son. this person was ah si.
haha indeed it was a twist of fate. status reversals b/w alice and ah si, parental changes for emma west. well the story ended with emma and richard getting together, alice and ah si getting together and they all live happily ever after (duh..)
yupz well i'll jus give general comments then. a very very very funny theatre production tt is fit for the whole family. the songs were well written and sounded indeed a work of dick lee as it was similar to his style of music of happy piano pieces. the lyrics of the songs were well written too, and very witty (thus funny) at times. the acting was superb and the singing was clear and accurate (tho i had some difficulty when mrs lim was singing as she was supposed to have poor pronunciation =( ) and the stage work was superb!! the whole set could rotate on the stage and reveal the outside of the hse and its interior.. pretty cool stage!
yea i think tts it. =)

Song Name: 自我催眠
Artist: 罗志祥
Album: 催眠SHOW
Woo

return to sgh
ok well had my first volunteer session at sgh today.. after 1 week of correspondence with the community relations manager finally went down for the first day.. haha today was kinda boring huh cos nobody to talk to.. >_< was dispatched to inpatient pharmacy to help out.. tasked with packing medicine for them.. did tt crap till 12 noon. then went to have lunch at the now familiar Kopitiam (food court nt the hawker centre lol) ate vegetarian food.. unpolished rice with vege n mock sausages.. flushed down with a cup of soya bean drink.. see super healthy right? muahahahaha =) aiya needed to eat healthy stuff after being stuffed by jg with totally UNHEALTHY, CARCINOGENIC, PRESERVED, ARTIFICIALLY FLAVOURED food like sausages, fishballs, crab sticks..
ok later went back to the pharmacy to finish off the last bit of packing.. wanted to get it over and done with but the girls started listening to ipod and slacked.. so i decided to slack abit myself (deeply against my conscience tho but being a conformist i had to do tt :S).. yea when we finally got started it was already 1.30 pm.. wow earned 1 hr free cip! haha.. then halfway through we had to shift to another pharmacy cos some of the staff wanted to use the rm to eat lunch (crap lar.. ur lunch more impt than our job meh..) so we shifted.. there we finished the rest of the work and finally got to do more interesting (but even more painstaking and more mind-boggling) work.. sorting out the returns.. well "returns" is a term used by the pharmacists for medicine returned frm the wards for various reasons (patient discharged, patient deceased :S shant continue..) yea and they usually come in a big plastic bag with everything mixed up inside.. so pharmacists have the happy task of looking through the whole bag to scavenge loose unfinished medicine and classify them back into the containers they belong.. which was the task they gave us.. at first i thought it was quite fun.. then it got frm bad to worse.. my mind was bursting of drug names as i tried to recall whether i heard tt name b4 so tt i can classify it together with whatevers on the table.. can really imagine the memory power of pharmacists man.. they have to know the drug names, usually dosage, side effects, possible detrimental effects when 2 drugs are prescribed together, what conditions affect the prescribed dosage, etc etc.. then my job was made even worse when i realised tt there were different kinds of tablets for the same drug.. some with 5 mg, 10 mg 20mg.... ARGH!!! ultimately had to jus try my best and then hand it over to the professionals..
yea had a talk with the senior pharmacist there abt her job there.. everything shymala nara told me she repeated so i guess there's nothing much more to noe huh.. though she told me to be a pharmacist u can mus be interested with chem.. and pharmacists usually either have studied pharmacy or chem engineering in uni.. interesting thought..
yupz hope to psycho more ppl to go volunteer then i'll nt be ALL ALONE...

Dr Chee and his speech
yea well was reading chee soon juan's speech on human rights in sg.. its found in the issues and ideas.. well if u all dunno he's the opposition party leader of Singapore Democratic Party i think.. one of those opposition party members who has gone loco and started spouting nonsense.. like jb jeyaretnam.. ok well in this case was nt spouting nonsense like "Where is our money?!" like in the 2001 elections but very critical, uncompromising and one-sided account of the human rights situation in sg.. he attacked the ISD like siao.. saying all kinds of stuff tt was partially true but in my opinion hard to believe given his accusatory tone throughout the speech.. maybe he shld learn frm low thia kiang or chiam see tong on mannerisms.. they're well-mannered and puts forth their objections to PAP's moves in parliament very politely but forcefully.. unlike his fiery speeches tt is irritating to the ear.. haiz sometimes fanatism for ones own views lead to such behaviour..
well im jus exercising my human right to freedom of speech.. hope Dr Chee doesnt take me to court for it.. :S
