another break in play this week with vesak day on thurs (today i mean haha). yea if u wonder why my blog url is called break in play (i faintly rmb explaining it in my first post but well) its due to playing too much fifa last time. whenever the ball goes out of the field, the commentator will go "and a break in play here, throw in given". so i thought. life can be a game, and blogging can be a break in play, a time to reflect and access ur actions b4 getting on with life.

hmmm. we had the sealing of the time capsule on monday evening. 25 items to signify 25 yrs of ihawk operations. the time capsule itself was a novelty. a ICWAR, a radar frm the 1st gen ihawk fire section. interesting idea. then there was the glorious food. the laksa was pathetic, the chicken kebabs cold but ok, the buffet average. free flow of wine and beer tho. but i dun drink sooooo. nt my business. we spent the wk slacking around as usual i think.

wad was supposed to be a happy day ended pathetically. =( had half day again today due to the squadron celebrating 25 yrs of ihawk operations, so got to bk out early. reached home early and parked at my com for a while. stupid internet kept dc-ing till i give up on WoW. then my mother came home and argued with me who was to get dinner and wad to get. feeling pretty irritated alr i had a heated exchange with my mom b4 storming off tiredly. i wonder wad possessed me but well haiz. regret it somewhat. happens sometimes anywayz.

yea well had ADG run at west coast. a pathetic 4.2km run i think. ran thru at an avg pace with ease. maybe i shld have ran faster. at the end my leg muscles didnt feel a strain at all. zzz. anyway ADG stands for air def group, comprising of 160, 163 and 165 SQN. after the run we had photo taking b4 going to eat dinner and bk in for night snack. the lame thing was tt the course commander had alr told the ops rm ppl to help us sign out the night snack, so we technically didnt need to go back so early..... diaoz =S

today we had CO parade to commemerate the 25th anniversary of 163 sqn. spent the morning doing saikang like cleaning up the launchers and parade square. 9.30am went to change into a sweat free no4 and shining boots for the parade. oh yes the boots. haha spent the previous night trying out some "cheat" way to make ur boots look like plastic. apparently u jus need to put a thin layer of neutral kiwi on the black kiwi on ur boots and use LOTS of water to rub and tadah! u have "plastic" boots! wth man. no wonder my coursemates' boots are so shiny. -.-"" 10.30 am onwards we had rehearsals till the actual CO parade started and ended. after tt was photo taking as a SQN. i think the launchers emplaced by the side of the grp photo was a pretty cool idea. =D after tt.... BOOK OUT!. woot. =)

an unexpected half day today. lol. went to tekong today too! nice to see the familiar bmtc. and saw some sispec frens having training too.

had lunch at burger king at toa payoh with avin and ho lun. then went home.

crap i have nothing much to write. i wanna watch pirates of the carribean! anyone interested?

last wk we had our first nights out ever. on tues. but on the condition of going out to buy a jersey for the fore mentioned soccer tournament. we went queensway frm LCK camp II and hunted around for a shop with gd prices for jerseys. found a nice adidas jersey and bought it with the no. printed. i took no.7. =) had a 2nd dinner at macs b4 going back to camp.

yest went to watch the FA Cup finals at amk macs. but the stupid thing was tt at 9.55pm the match started without the tv at macs showing the match. -.-" ended up having to go next door to the coffeeshop to watch. diaoz. the match was sian in the 1st half, both sides unable to break down each other's defence. the 2nd half was more exciting with end to end stuff. but eventually man utd lost in extra time to a drogba goal. sian. i felt man utd had many more clear cut chances but simply failed to capitalise. zzzz. hate it when chelsea wins something. =(

the remaining 5 wks will be more hectic as all the training is all compressed together. and more night training. sianz. but well, seriously, we have been really slack the past few wks. time to pull up our socks.

bet u guys are wondering why im at home now. yea well cos today is a half day for us. haha. soccer at fico sports hub in boon lay area i think. after tt half day off. woo hoo. so here i am. blogging once again.

yes as my blog title has given it away, we got 2nd! =) haha totally unexpected la after never beating the delta specs in a soccer game. well heres the results 1st.

Group Stage
vs Bravo1 1-0 win
vs Alpha1 1-1 draw
vs SQN HQ 1-0 win
vs HQ FLT 1-1 draw
vs Charlie1/2 (forgot) 0-1 loss

as u can see we can only score an avg of 1 goal per game. haha. defence solid but attack was nt tt gd. haha the first match we actually managed to win bravo1, the eventual winners of the tournament. looking back at the win seems kinda funny. were we tt gd? probably nt. we were under siege all the way and i popped up in front of goal to score probably the only clear chance in e game. with some luck too. thru the legs of the keeper. LOL. the alpha match was pretty rough as a particular player on alpha's team was VERY VERY ROUGH. example.

i was taking on a defender with the ball on the halfway line. then suddenly HE charges in frm behind slamming me off the ball and collecting the loose ball. and he got away with it time and again. WTH. haiz. but we were leading 1-0 for the whole match until a freekick which managed to slip past the wall went in. crap.

the SQN HQ and HQ FLT matches were kinda ok. played against the CO. haha. he's an ok player actually, and given the nature of his work, he's quite fit too. but we beat them 1-0 haha.

but as u can see we lost our last match. to a controversial penalty too in my opinion la. last min of play, the rough player frm alpha (whos the ref of tt match) awarded charlie a penalty. tts where the only goal came frm. which condemned us out of the semis on goal difference.

until a twist of fate came. charlie1/2 had to be disqualified after they used an illegal player for their match against us. and we took their place. since the delta specs frm the other grp topped their grp, they played us in the semis.

Knockout Phase
vs Delta1 0-0 draw (we win on penalties)
vs Bravo1 2-2 draw (lose on penalties)

i sat out the semis as i was very tired, being the lone striker up front. anyway the delta specs wanted to give us a shot at the championship so initially wanted to let us walkover but we convinced them to play. but they obviously oso were playing out of courtesy and wasnt going all out to win. so at the lottery of penalties we won after 1 kick each.

haha the final was rather dramatic. we were losing 2-0 with 2 mins left in the 2nd half i think. so we decided to go all out attack. a gamble which paid handsomely in a way. i scored frm a rebound (through the keeper's legs AGAIN hahaha =D) and frm the restart we counter attacked and managed to grab the equiliser after 3 consecutive shots. but it was nt to be as i missed my penalty and they scored.

all in all an enjoyable day i guess. unexpected but as the encik says.

the ball is round. anything can happen.

had loads of S&G this wk, with minimal training on equipment thx to lack of manpower. didnt see the course cmder for the bulk of the wk except for the mid course debrief on thurs and a slight glimpse on fri. which was gd news. =) cos when she came for course debrief she was kinda bitchy at the end of it when the s3 left. i think tts wad make us dislike her to some extent. shes too rigid and bites at the wrong time. clement asked a small issue abt nights out and she bit back with a vengeance tt was uncalled for i think. haiz wadeva la.

well watched spiderman 3 yesterday nite! nt bad a film. i didnt watch spiderman 1 but i did for spiderman 2. but either way i felt it was ez to pick up the story was i used to watch spiderman cartoons when i was young anyway. yupz. oh yes when out with lx, mong and david in the afternoon to vivo. had lunch at kopitiam with mong and lx, b4 lx started shopping for his clothes and a bag. david only joined us later at abt 3pm. went home at abt 5pm.

this wk will be the start of the toughest training i think, as the training for the toughest equipment to train on starts next wk. hope to survive it.

oh yes the squadron cohesion soccer activity tt was supposed to be last month was moved to this thurs. hopefully we can go all the way to the final. =)

lazing around at the moment so decided to blog. yea well the past wk was kinda short thx to the may day hols. couldnt do much too as the encik, MSG ho and meng were bz with nsmen reservist training. yeap.

well we finally changed our stupid foam beds! with REAL mattresses. =) gd riddance to cheap rubbish. spent much of thursday morning shifting mattresses and removing bedframes frm the nsmen's bunk. THX NSMEN. well u're training we change ur beds. =S yupz. another highlight was the visit to the emart at tengah. managed to finally get hold of the coveted air force t-shirts, pt vests and shorts. gd riddance to tt ugly grey ARMY t-shirt. woohoo =D but cant wear those yet due to lack of stock for certain sizes leading to some of my coursemates nt being able to get hold of them. zzzz. yea well. at least ive got wad i wanted.

course cmder was on a PR mission this wk i think. had a interview with her, and she commended on everyone's gd performance so far. then she was especially nice, which was uncharacteristic of her. haha apparently word got out to her tt we didnt really like her much. most probably thru the encik. so it was relief to finally see the encik and MSGs on fri fresh frm outfield. the lesson conducted by the encik was super relaxed and refreshing la. interesting guy tt encik. full of jokes and words of deception such tt u dunno when he's serious and when hes nt. and super zai oso. he is one who walks the talk i think. boasts all the time but when it comes to the crunch, he can really do it amazingly fast. gotta respect him for tt.

yupz hope next wk will be as gd as this one. =)

visited mh at nuh on sun 2 days ago. with jg. we met up at amk hub for lunch at macs b4 buying brands essence of chicken for mh. then we headed over to nuh via mrt and bus. when we arrived at mh's bed, he was slping. we spent some quiet minutes looking at how much mh seemed to have changed since i last saw him. his hair seemed very much longer (reminds me tt i havent cut my hair in 1-2 months since POP. (= ) but he seemed much more frail. with the scary no. of tubes and drips attached to him. after a while he woke up. he couldnt talk much, could only mumble his words. at least he managed to smile frm time to time. we visited for abt an hr b4 going home.

right yesterday there was a theory test for ihawk. 80% was the passing mark and i like didnt study at all over the wkend? LOL. did some last min studying in bunk when i bked in till late at night, abt 12 am. managed to scrap a pass tho (hopefully) cos i got 62/75. but some arguments with the qns by my coursemates may make me fail. if u calculate properly, 60 is the passing mark. and there are 3 qns in contention which im on the wrong side of...

I DUN WANNA CONFINE.....
