after watching "grand slam sunday" play out, im kinda happy with the results. man utd 3-0 over liverpool, chelsea 2-1 against arsenal. meaning man utd extend their lead at the top to 5 pts now, with only 7 games to go. man utd jus needs some consistency and nt lose any of their remaining matches, and i think the title is in the bag once again.

as for man utd vs liverpool i must say the football was at times fantastic for man utd. they were clearly the better side with much more clear cut chances at goal. rooney was my man of the match i think, tho i dunno who it actually was. 2 assists and a couple of missed clear cut chances puts him up there.

goal no1 was frm the unlikeliest of sources. wes brown (wth?). and the way it went in was kinda comical oso. rooney's inswinger cross from the left flank finds wes brown towering over the defender in the middle jus outside the 6 yd box. reina lunged for the ball but it seemed like wes brown's shoulder was got the last touch to bounce it over reina for 1-0. no2 was oso frm a corner to the near post. giggs inswinger to the near post and WHAM. ronaldo powered it with his head across goal. 2-0. reina was lunging for the cross as usual. no3 occurred 2 mins later as rooney played a 1-2 with nani jus outside the box b4 nani cut across the backtracking defender and blasted it into the bottom left corner. 3-0.

well of course the talking pt would be abt mascherano's sending off with 2 yellow cards, both for dissent. well i think i wont talk abt tt one, a bit too contentious to say the least.

as for chelsea arsenal, the 1st half was the battle of adebayor vs terry and drogba vs gallas, with the defenders coming on top. so 0-0 at half time. the 1st goal in the 2nd half was frm another unlikely source. bacary sagna (WTH?). cesc fabregas from a corner to the near post for sagna to glance it in. to wad a response frm chelsea. avram grant brought on anelka and belletti for makelele and ballack i think and both were involved in drogba's 2 goals. a anelka 1-2 with drogba came loose jus inside the box but drogba was on hand to blast it throw a defender's feet past the brilliant almunia. then a belletti free kick frm the half way line is flicked on by anelka across the box to drogba who's close range shot was palmed into goal by almunia. and tt stayed all the way to the final whistle.

man utd now 5 pts clear. but with arsenal at old trafford and chelsea at stamford bridge, the title race is far frm over.

woot gundam OO is proving to be one great anime.

plot twist after plot twist, mobile suit battle after mobile suit battle, death after death.

after 23 eps, im still thoroughly hooked. sadly season 1 will end in 2-3 weeks time. then it'll be a loooonnnng wait to season 2 in oct. argh.

luckily code geass lelouch of the rebellion season 2 will replace gundam OO's timeslot in japan so tts another blockbuster anime to watch in the meantime.

anime fans shld watch both series. 5/5 frm me. =)

i dun really get it sometimes when i read the news and realise tt, so many hc-ians sign on, be it scholarship or nothing. my yr had many hc SMS receipients. mark, nichola, xinhui, blah blah. wad puzzles me even more is tt a high no of receipients of the women's SMS is hc-ians. this yr is no different. 6 hc girls. omg wad has the world gone to.



1stly i'll like to say, as ive always reiterated, im NOT sexist in saying this stuff. girls can go ahead and sign on, for all i care. but having been in NS for more than a yr now, ive come to have a greater understanding of how the SAF works, and how ive grown to detest it. maybe if i go out into the corporate world, life may be similar in fact.



being a NSF man has given me the opportunity to feel how its like frm down there, looking at up there. and the experience isnt gd. lets just say shit flows frm the top down. whenever theres a problem, officers, being officers, will command and control. specs, feeling the heat, will in turn pass the shit on to the lowest lifeforms in the SAF, the MEN, like me. so judging by the flow of things, I end up doing most of the stuff tt needs to be done. we do wad the specs are supposed to do so as to cover their asses, and for them to claim our glory. we do wad the officers tell us to do, no matter how ptless and stupid it seems to do. we suck up all the loose ends, and marvel at some of our superiors' incompetencies. too many examples exist of how incompetent sometimes i feel my specs are.
